Opening of the Incubation Centre and Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

The opening ceremony of the Incubation Centre at the Faculty of technology of Eastern University, Techno Park of Eastern University, Sri Lanka, and the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Science and Technology and Eastern University, Sri Lanka, were successfully held on 4 June 2026.

The event marked a significant milestone in strengthening collaboration between the Ministry and the University to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, research commercialization, and technology transfer. The newly established Incubation Centre is designed to support students, researchers, and innovators by providing mentorship, training, testing service, networking opportunities, and access to resources required to transform innovative ideas into sustainable ventures.

The MoU provides a framework for long-term collaboration in research, innovation, capacity building, technology development, and the promotion of technology-based entrepreneurship. This partnership is expected to enhance the University's role in advancing innovation and contributing to the socio-economic development of Sri Lanka.

The establishment of the Incubation Centre and the MoU signing reflect the shared commitment of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Eastern University, Sri Lanka, to fostering an innovation-driven ecosystem and creating opportunities for future entrepreneurs and researchers.
